AI at Ayla
Ayla is an AI-assisted service. Here is how the AI works, in plain terms.
You are talking to an AI
When you message Ayla on WhatsApp, you are talking to an AI assistant, not a person typing back. We tell you this at the very start, so you always know.
What Ayla helps you do
You tell Ayla what you are looking for, and she builds your profile from the conversation. You can ask her to update things whenever you like, such as your budget, the areas you want, your move-in dates, or to pause your search.
How matching works
Most of how Ayla suggests matches is ordinary software working from the facts you gave us, like your dates, your budget, and the areas you want. AI helps with one part: getting a sense of who might click with whom.
A person approves your matches
Today, a real person at Ayla reviews and approves every introduction before it reaches you. In time, some introductions may become automatic, but only if you have said yes to that. It is why Ayla asks you, right at the start of your WhatsApp chat, whether you are happy to be introduced automatically, and you can change your answer at any time. Whatever you choose, you can always ask a person to look at a decision, share your point of view, and challenge it.
If you want to talk to a person
You can ask to speak to a person at any time. We flag it for our team, and someone will get back to you. It may take a little time. Just ask in your WhatsApp chat.
Your data
The AI runs in the European Union, and the providers we work with are contractually barred from using your data to train their own models. Everything we collect, and every right you have over it, is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Where this fits in the law
This page is how we meet the EU AI Act's transparency rules in plain language: you are told when you are dealing with an AI, and how AI helps shape the matches we suggest. The formal detail sits in our Privacy Policy and Terms.
