Start a flatshare

Meet your people first

Stuck in an expensive studio, or in a flatshare you never chose? Ayla introduces you to two or three people who genuinely fit you, then helps your group find a flat in Luxembourg City. Free during launch.

Everyone in an Ayla-formed flatshare is identity-verified.

You, and every person Ayla introduces, pass a government ID check before any contact is exchanged.

What you are really taking on

Starting a flatshare is the best way to get a home that is genuinely yours, and it is a real job. Here is the honest version, so you can decide with open eyes. Not for you? Ayla will happily find you a room in an existing home instead.

01

You bring people together

You are the one who starts it: you seed the idea, you meet the people Ayla introduces, and you choose who joins. That one clear anchor is what makes a group of strangers safe to commit to.

02

The group shares the work

You are not signing up to run a household alone. In a good flatshare one person finds the flat, another coordinates viewings, another digs into the lease. Each person brings a strength, and the home belongs to everyone.

03

You set the shape, they opt in

You do not need everyone to agree on everything. Groups of four that vote on every detail talk themselves out of good homes. You set the shape, and people choose to join a thing that exists.

You choose who joins, always. Ayla brings you people worth meeting, with the context that matters, and helps you choose well. She never decides for you, and she never vouches for an outcome.

What can go sideways, and what handles it

Someone changes their mind before move-in

It happens, and it is why nobody is committed until the lease is signed. Ayla helps you line up more than one person, and a seat that opens up goes back to the matched pool.

The group takes a few weeks to form

Meeting people properly takes time: expect a few weeks of conversations and coffees, not an afternoon. The honest effort is also the filter that finds you committed people.

Money needs naming early

There is usually a deposit and up-front costs to agree on and split. Agreeing the basics before anyone signs is what keeps money from getting awkward later. For figures and rules, use the official sources, not guesses.

The lease is the real commitment line

Whoever signs is liable, so who is on the lease matters. Luxembourg has a dedicated colocation framework worth understanding before you sign. Ayla explains the shapes in general terms and points to the official rules; the details are between your group and the owner.
